FOOTAGE has been shared showing the moment a man crashed into a stationary vehicle and a garden wall following a police pursuit in Rhyl and Kinmel Bay.
Jamie Wilkins, 50, of Dorset Avenue, Stockport, was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years, at Mold Crown Court on Thursday, June 25.
He had previously admitted charges of dangerous driving, failing to provide a blood sample for analysis, and driving without insurance.
Following his sentencing, the Crown Prosecution Service has provided dashcam footage from the police vehicle which pursued Wilkins, which can be viewed below.
On August 5, 2025, Wilkins’ Ford Focus accelerated through a red traffic light and turned onto Foryd Road, Kinmel Bay.
In a 20mph zone, Wilkins drove in excess of 50mph as he tried to evade police.
He crossed into the centre of a carriageway, contravened a “keep left” bollard, and overtook other vehicles, before ultimately losing control of his car.
The pursuit ended after Wilkins’ car hit a stationary vehicle and a small garden wall, causing damage to both.
Wilkins, who had 27 previous convictions for 121 offences, will complete 30 days’ rehabilitation activity as part of his suspended sentence.
