A NORTH Wales MP has paid tribute to Sir Keir Starmer following his resignation.
Gill German, Labour MP for Clwyd North, said it was an "honour" to serve under Sir Keir's leadership and praised his "commitment and integrity."
Sir Keir confirmed he would be stepping down yesterday.
Ms German said: "I am incredibly sad to see Keir Starmer resign today.
"It was the honour of my life to be elected as MP for Clwyd North under his leadership, and I want to put on record my sincere thanks and respect for all that he has achieved as Prime Minister.
"Be it on the international stage or here at home, Keir has led our country with commitment and integrity."
She said she remains focused on her role in Parliament and serving the needs of her constituents.
She said: "We must now get on with the job of government, continuing to build a stronger, fairer country as we were elected to do.
"As MP for Clwyd North, I remain focused on this and representing what our constituency needs."
Sir Keir had served as Prime Minister since the 2024 general election.
