Big-screen classical music returns to the cinema on a special weekend.
André Rieu’s 2026 Maastricht Concert will be broadcast in cinemas across the UK on August 8 and 9, giving audiences a chance to experience the maestro’s latest open-air spectacle on the big screen.
The concert, titled Viva Maastricht!, was recorded in Vrijthof Square in Rieu’s hometown of Maastricht and marks the 20th anniversary of his much-loved summer performances at the iconic venue.
Mr Rieu said: "I am so excited to be performing our summer concerts in Maastricht for the 20th year this July.
"The unique atmosphere of the Vrijthof, which is the oldest square in the Netherlands, touches both heart and soul.
"It is fantastic that this concert will once again be shown in cinemas around the world in August, and I hope you will enjoy it as much as my orchestra and I do.
"Viva Maastricht!"
This year’s concert promises a showcase of Rieu’s signature style, featuring beloved waltzes, classical favourites, and theatrical musical numbers.
Audiences can expect performances of songs from My Fair Lady and Les Misérables, the moving Gabriel’s Oboe, and the ever-popular Blue Danube.
The concert also features appearances by the Platin Tenors, international sopranos, and a selection of guest soloists.
A highlight of the cinema event will be exclusive backstage access and an interview with Mr Rieu, presented by broadcaster Charlotte Hawkins (Classic FM, ITV Good Morning Britain).
This feature will only be available to cinema audiences.
Mr Rieu’s cinema broadcasts have become an annual phenomenon in the UK.
The 2026 concert is presented by Piece of Magic Entertainment.
