Newly opened pub set to hold 'first country night in Rhyl'

The Nelson, which is based at the former home of The North and Tinkers Bar on Wellington Road, welcomed customers for the first time in late April.

It is being run by Abbie Nelson, 30, who previously ran The Cove, on Water Street, prior to its closure in 2023.

Its country night will take place on Saturday, July 11, from 2pm until late – entry is free, and families are welcome.

Abbie said: “This is the first proper country night in Rhyl, and I’m hoping it’ll be big!

“I have put so much effort and money into it and want it to be a big success for the town.

“Country singer Megan Lee is singing from 3pm. We will have a bucking bronco, and have ordered loads of hay bales.

“We are completely decorating the place with ballon arches and country backdrops, and will be serving food. Families are welcome.”

The pub’s opening hours are 12pm to 12.30am on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays, and 12pm to 1.30am from Thursday to Saturday.

It will be “dog-friendly” until 6pm, while children aged 10+ will be allowed in until 8pm, but must always be accompanied by an adult.
