STEP back in time to the 1940s and 1950s at a charming pop-up vintage tearoom near Denbigh, where homemade treats are served on retro crockery alongside a generous helping of nostalgia.
From vintage-inspired hair and make-up to carefully sourced décor and classic music, the pop-up tearoom run by former day nursery owner Tina Griffiths and her daughter Alys Demirova has quickly become a favourite with visitors looking to enjoy a slower pace and a touch of old-fashioned elegance.
Tina and Alys have converted a room within their home to accommodate the tearoom at their family-run glamping site - Bryniau Clwyd Luxury Glamping Retreat on Prion Road.
To create an authentic feel, the mum and daughter team spent time researching the era through books, films and historical references, paying close attention to details such as table settings, music and presentation.
Many items used in the tearoom have been carefully sourced from antique shops and private collections to help bring a genuine touch to the experience.
Tina said: "The idea for the tearoom came from a love of creating memorable experiences for everyone .
"We have always had a strong interest in the 1940s and 1950s era - from the fashion and music to the sense of nostalgia and community. We wanted to recreate a space where people could step back in time and enjoy a slower, more elegant way of socialising.
"The aim is to create not just a place to dine, but an immersive experience that celebrates the charm and elegance of the 1940s."
The pop-up vintage tearoom opened in December 2025 and operates on selected dates throughout the year. The space specialises in bespoke afternoon teas, served by Tina and Alys dressed in authentic vintage attire, all set to the sounds of a bygone era.

The mum and daughter also host events around occasions, most recently a celebration was held for VE Day, and weekends, with plans to continue running these regularly.
They also cater for private parties.
Tina said: "A great deal of preparation goes into each event, particularly in terms of presentation. From styling the tearoom with vintage crockery and décor to preparing the food, every detail is thoughtfully considered. We also embrace the theme fully through vintage-inspired hair, makeup, and attire, which adds to the immersive experience for our guests.
"We have been delighted with the feedback received so far. Guests have commented on the attention to detail, the relaxed atmosphere, and how unique the experience feels.
"Many have said it feels like stepping back in time, which is exactly what we hoped to achieve."
Tina founded and ran Snuggles Day Nursery in Denbigh for 24 years. After selling the business, Tina and her family set out to create a welcoming venture where people can come to “relax and enjoy themselves.”
Tina is supported by her husband Alun, who helps in the kitchen on the days the tearoom is open and keeps the glamp site maintained.
She said: "The glamping retreat was our first venture which we opened in 2024, and the tearoom has grown naturally from that.
"The introduction of the vintage tearoom has allowed us to expand that experience and offer something truly special and memorable for everyone."
