AN ORPHANED lamb is being given a new lease of life thanks to a kind-hearted couple who have taken her in.
Aimee Walker, of Wrexham, has a passion for rescuing and caring for animals.
The 24-year-old rents a smallholding where she accommodates the animals she adopts.
At present she has five dogs, three horses, four sheep, two rabbits and a hamster - some of which are hers and some are rescues.
When the opportunity to rescue a paralyzed orphaned lamb arose, Miss Walker happily welcomed her to the family.
The now seven-week-old lamb, named Dottie, was weak and unable to walk when Miss Walker took her in.
And while she says the lamb may never be able to walk unaided, Miss Walker and her partner Jack have been helping Dottie to adjust to life with a walking aid.
Initially, they started with a dog wheelchair found on Facebook marketplace.
But after putting a video of Dottie on TikTok, a kind-hearted charity named Winston's Wheels reached out to donate a bigger wheelchair.
Miss Walker, a mental health support worker for Flintshire Council, said: "I would really like to thank the charity for their kind gesture - it's just lovely.
"We're not rich; I do this as a hobby. For Rachel to help out was really amazing.
"Me and Jack are helping Dottie to get her strength up.
"We have been doing exercises with her and she is getting the strength to stand on her own - and her tail is starting to move.
"I don't think she will ever be able to fully walk but I do think she will regain some function over time."
Speaking of her motivation behind the adoption, she added: "I've always loved animals since I was a child - I brought home a crow with a broken wing one time.
"It's my hobby. I love it. I work and my money goes on them."
