ANYONE named David can visit Knowsley Safari free of charge this Friday, in tribute to a legendary broadcaster.

The special offer is in celebration of the 100th birthday of Sir David Attenborough.

It’s a tribute from the safari park, which shares Sir David’s lifelong commitment to wildlife conservation and education.

Helena Berry, head of marketing and sales at Knowsley Safari, said: "Sir David Attenborough has inspired generations to care more deeply about the natural world.

"His work has led to the successful conservation careers of many, some of whom are our staff.

"Sir David also has great resonance in Merseyside from launching the polar research ship bearing his name at Cammell Laird in 2018.

"As Sir David marks his 100th birthday, we want to celebrate his extraordinary legacy with our visitors, and welcoming Davids to the Safari for free is a joyful way to applaud an incredible man who has given so much to Merseyside, wildlife and the planet."

Knowsley Safari supports international breeding programmes for endangered species and engages young audiences with conservation-led learning.

Anyone named David can gain free entry on May 8 by presenting valid identification at the admissions gate.
