Flood alert is issued in North Wales - here's what to expect

This was sent out by Natural Resources Wales at 11.35am this morning (April 4).

It concerns areas along the North Wales coast from the Dee Estuary to Abergele, between 12.45am and 1.30am tomorrow.

Natural Resources Wales said: "There is a risk of flooding as a result of the combination of the high tides and weather conditions between 12.45am and 1.30am Sunday, April 5, 2026.

"Be careful on beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths, roads, low lying land, close to the estuary.

"We will continue to monitor the situation."

A number of yellow weather warnings for wind have been issued by the Met Office, including one covering parts of North Wales, as Storm Dave rolls in.

Across all warning areas, gusts of 50-60mph are expected widely, with 60-70mph possible in exposed locations.

Gusts of up to 65mph have been forecast for parts of Conwy on Saturday, and up to 56mph on Sunday.

In Denbighshire, gusts are expected to reach as high as 60mph in some areas, easing slightly to around 54mph on Easter Sunday.

Areas in Gwynedd and Anglesey are also set to be impacted, with gusts of up to 66mph expected in Bangor and up to 69mph in Holyhead.

The yellow weather warning for wind is in force from 5pm on Saturday until 7am on Easter Sunday.
