A COMMUNITY-focused charity event will take place at a pub in St Asaph this weekend.
The fundraiser, at The Swan Inn, on The Roe, on Saturday, April 4, will be in aid of St Kentigern Hospice and the North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Bodelwyddan.
With live music, fundraising games, quizzes, drink offers, a raffle, the event will raise money for The North Wales Cancer Unit at Glan Clwyd Hospital and St Kentigern Hospice.
Landlady Amy has organised this in memory of a close friend’s loved one, Cyril Jones, from the Holywell area, who lost his battle with cancer in January aged 63.
Amy said: “What’s been really amazing is the response from local businesses already.
“We started reaching out on Facebook to ask for any donations, big or small, to use as raffle prizes, and within just a few hours, we’ve had some incredibly generous contributions.
“It’s a great example of local businesses all coming together to support this cause, and there’s already plenty up for grabs - definitely worth people coming down and getting raffle tickets on the day!”
Entry to the charity event at The Swan Inn is free of charge.
The event will run from 3pm until late on April 4.
