JULES Peters spent a day at The Mike Peters Arena - the event space at Rhyl's Queen’s Market - discussing plans for the area.
The Journal reported that the venue’s event space had been named in honour of the band’s beloved lead singer earlier in March.
Jules shared her deep pride that her late husband was being honoured in such a way, saying that both she and Mike had always been “very proud” to come from Rhyl.
The family are planning to add a Mike Peters mural, an Alarm poppy and signage to the newly named arena.
Mike, the lead singer of The Alarm, who lived in Dyserth with his family, died on April 29, 2025, aged 66, from blood cancer.
Jules, who shares sons Dylan and Evan with Mike, said: “Myself, Dylan and Evan are so grateful to Denbighshire County Council for naming the venue at the Queen’s Market in Mike’s memory. It is such an honour and a fitting celebration of Mike and The Alarm’s legacy.

"Mike grew up only a stone’s throw away on Edward Henry Street, the beach was Mike’s back yard. I felt his presence everywhere on Friday (March 27).
"Mike worked as a Barman at The Bistro on this very spot and incredibly Mike and I celebrated our Wedding at the Queen’s right here in the space, so it feels incredibly fitting to host The Gathering here on this iconic spot on Rhyl Promenade.
"On Friday, we discussed adding the signage of The Mike Peters Arena, the Alarm Poppy, a Mike Peters mural and so much more.”
The Gathering will be held at The Mike Peters Arena next year.
The Gathering is an annual, multi-day music festival and fan convention, curated by Mike. Fans of The Alarm come from around the world for the weekend-long celebration, which includes acoustic sets, quizzes, Q&A sessions, and tributes to the band’s music.
The first Gathering took place at Rhyl Town Hall in 1992.
Jules shared with the Journal that Mike said, after walking on stage at Rhyl Town Hall: “It was a very special evening that has lived long in the memory and the beginning of a rock and roll reversal, where I got to stay at home and the fans went on tour to my home town.
"The next day, I realised that The Gathering was already established in the mindset of everyone who had made the effort to be there. I immediately made plans for a return to Rhyl Town Hall in 1993.”
Jules hopes that every year, the Peters family can present Rhyl to The Alarm family and encourage fans to share positive images of the town around the world.
