The Cob & Pen, on High Street, was bought by Punch Pubs last summer, before Aspire Inns Ltd took over the premises temporarily while a permanent management team was sought.
Stephen Darbey, who also runs Busy Bee Taxis and The Marsh bistro café and bar in Rhyl, took on the running of The Cob & Pen in December, but is now handing over the lease to another person.
A planning application for new signage and swan-based murals, submitted in December by Punch, was approved by Denbighshire County Council on February 24.
The works will include new signage (both LED-illuminated and stone), three brass lanterns, and one large and two smaller swan murals.
The two smaller murals will measure 1090x1680mm and 1150x1660mm.
Planning permission was granted on the condition that the development starts within the next five years.
The Cob & Pen is a three-storey building with a beer garden, and overlooks Rhyl’s bus and railway stations.
