An item which only costs 10p (or even cheaper in some cases) has been recommended as a useful tool for keeping air fryers clean for longer.
It is recommended to wash up your air fryer basket with warm, soapy water after every use to protect it from the build-up of food.
However, there is a cheap item which can get around this issue and get your air fryer through a few uses before it needs a proper clean.
It is likely that many households will already be aware of this due to its simple use.
The 10p item that can keep your air fryer clean for longer
Air fryer sheets are the solution to this problem, with it costing £5 for a packet of 50 from Dunelm (working out at 10p per sheet) or £4.99 for 100 sheets from Amazon.
The main use of them here is as a preventative measure to stop oil and other foodstuffs from getting into the basket.
Olivia Young, a cleaning expert and Product Development Scientist at Astonish, advocated for their use.
She explained: "Air fryer liners are also a great preventive measure to help keep your appliance cleaner for longer.
"They catch grease, crumbs and cooking juices before they reach the basket, which reduces buildup and makes the cleaning process much quicker.
"While they won’t replace regular cleaning, using a liner - especially when cooking foods that splatter or drip - can significantly cut down on mess and help maintain your air fryer for a little longer."
Meanwhile, Catherine Green, a cleaning expert for smol, said they are a "great time saver".
She added: "They not only protect the baskets from getting so dirty, they are super quick to clean in warm water and a little washing up liquid if needed and you aren’t throwing disposable ones away constantly (less waste to landfill)."
Sarah Kinsella, Head of Product at High Street TV, said air fryer liners were also useful for maintaining the longevity of the gadget itself.
She shared: “Another key benefit of air fryer liners is that they help preserve the condition and longevity of the air fryer itself.

"Constant exposure to grease and food residue can gradually wear down nonstick coatings and make drawers harder to clean over time."

"This not only keeps the appliance looking newer but also ensures a more consistent cooking performance over time."
