DENBIGH's Amber Davies will return to the ballroom next week after making it through the first 'vote off' and topping the Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard
Former Apprentice star Thomas Skinner became the first contestant to be eliminated from the competition. The 34-year-old and his professional partner Amy Dowden were defeated in Sunday’s dance-off by former England rugby star Chris Robshaw and his partner Nadiya Bychkova, with both pairs performing their dances from Saturday night for a second time.
West End star and former Love Island winner Amber and professional partner Nikita Kuzmin performed a lively Samba to Bam Bam by Ed Sheeran and Camila Cabello during Saturday night's show.
Scoring 31, Amber and Nikita landed in fourth place for Week Two — but their impressive combined total of 56 (week one and week two with no dance off in week one) saw them rise to the top of the overall leaderboard.
Judge Motsi Mabuse said of her week two performance: “You have the most amazing body rhythm I have seen in a while, well done.”

Judge Craig Revel Horwood said: "I loved, loved, loved that."
Amber, who turned 29 on October 4, and Nikita will perform a routine to a song from the Sound of Music next week for Movie Week.
Nikita posted on Instagram: "Thank you! #teamCHAOS is through to Movie Week thanks to you. So so excited to be part of one of the best weeks on the best show in the world."
Ahead of their performance on Saturday night, Amber reflected on her roots in Denbigh.
In the VT, Amber was seen taking Nikita on a trip to her hometown.
She said: "I grew up here [in Denbigh]. Everybody knows everybody.
"Being back here reminds me of where it all began. My mum and dad just supported me, I wouldn't be where I am today without them."
Nikita commented that Denbigh was "beautiful."
He praised Amber’s efforts in rehearsals but admitted she was “trying to run before she could walk.”
Despite the challenges of joining the competition later, Amber, a former Ysgol Glan Clwyd pupil in St Asaph, is embracing the experience.
“I just hope I do my hometown proud,” she added.
Following their Samba, co-presenter Tess Daly said Amber looked "right at home on the dancefloor."
