A ROAD in Flintshire where thousands of motorists have been caught speeding is set to change from 20mph to 30.
The Leader recently reported that 5,234 Notices of Intended Prosecution (NIPs) were issued to drivers caught travelling between 26 and 30mph on the A548 Bagillt Road in Greenfield since the 20mph limit was introduced.
The figures were taken from September 17, 2023 until August 22, 2025 from a fixed speed camera on the road.
The A548 Bagillt Road was one of the roads that members of the public called to be changed back to 30mph following the Welsh Government's review.
It came after the Welsh Government issued new guidance for local authorities in July which should assist them in making more roads exempt from the 20mph limit.
The Welsh Government made £5million available to local authorities to help fund the speed limit changes.
The A548 in Greenfield is one of several roads in Flintshire that will be reverting to 30mph.
And Flintshire Council issued a notice on September 24 to confirm that the road will be formally changing back to 30 in the near future.
The 30mph limit will come into effect from a point 27 metres north west of its junction with Providence Court, to a point 244 metres north west of its junction with the B5121 Greenfield Road.
A 30mph limit will also be introduced on the B5121 Greenfield Road, Greenfield From its junction with the A548 Mostyn Road, for a distance of 45 metres in a south westerly direction.
