A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of driving- and drugs-related offences following a police pursuit in Rhyl.
The Foryd Bridge, also known as the Blue Bridge, closed at about 3.35pm yesterday (August 5) following the man’s vehicle crashing into a stationary vehicle.
This bridge connects Rhyl and Kinmel Bay, and was closed to traffic for more than an hour.
Police at the scene by the Foryd Bridge yesterday (Image: Submitted) In an update today, a North Wales Police spokesperson said: “Police became involved in a pursuit in Rhyl yesterday after a car failed to stop for officers.
“Following a short pursuit, the man who made off from police collided with a stationary vehicle.
“A 50-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, drug driving, dangerous driving, possession with intent to supply class A drugs and driving with no insurance.
“He remains in police custody whilst our inquiries are ongoing.”
