Five years ago today, it was reported that Adventure Trail Abergele, a popular children's activity centre, had announced its permanent closure due to the ongoing challenges posed by the pandemic.

The woodland experience, located at Primrose Hill, St George, featured more than 40 games and challenges designed for youngsters.

The business shared the news on its Facebook page, stating, "We have some very sad news.

"Due to the pandemic, we feel we can no longer keep our visitors, staff and our family safe.

"Therefore, with a very heavy heart we have reluctantly decided to cease trading.

The management expressed gratitude to their patrons, saying: "We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your past support and we hope that you all keep safe in these difficult times."

This closure marked the end of an era for the centre, which had provided countless hours of fun for children.

The story was first reported on by Suzanne Kendrick on June 29, 2020.
