THE family of Mike Peters have released detailed plans for the funeral of Mike Peters, whose death aged 66 prompted an outpouring of grief from fans around the world.
Mike's funeral will be held on Thursday, May 29 at 3pm at the Parish Church of St Bridget and St Cwyfan in Dyserth. Reverend Gregor Lachlann-Waddell will take Mike's service. Rock legends such as Bono are expected to attend as well as Billy Duffy of The Cult - a long-term friend of Mike's [Mike formed a band called Coloursound with the guitarist].
The frontman of The Alarm died on April 29 from blood cancer.
Mike's wife Jules revealed that Mike "never once thought he was losing this fight".
Jules and sons, Dylan and Evan, have issued an open 'come as you are' invite to anyone who wishes to attend the funeral.

Where Mike's funeral will take place
Mike’s funeral will take place on Thursday, May 29 2025 from 3pm at the Parish Church of St Bridget and St Cwyfan, Waterfall Road, Dyserth, LL18 6DB.
What to expect - big screen?
The B5119 Waterfall Road will be closed for its entire length between the A5151 and A547 between 10am and 6pm on Thursday, May 29. A diversion route of A5151 and A547 will be in place (via roundabout at Rhuddlan Golf Club).
A large outdoor screen and sound system will be in place [this is being set up on the morning on May 29] on the road in front of the church. Everyone located outside the church will be able to watch the proceedings in the church in real-time and join in with communal songs.
An order of service with song lyrics will be shared in advance of the day.
There will be ample space on the closed road for everyone to gather, reflect, and pay tribute.
Seating inside the church is limited. All family, close friends and representatives, who are invited to the church for the service, will be notified in advance. Entry to the church and church grounds is by invitation.
Everyone is welcome to continue the celebration of Mike’s life with an evening of music at The Red.
Extra areas for gathering, opposite and around the waterfall, will be made available to ensure there is space for everyone.
The rock legends expected to attend
U2's Bono is expected to attend Mike's service as well as long-term friend Billy Duffy of The Cult.
Earlier in May, Jules posted on Facebook: "Thank you BD [Billy Duffy] for being such a rock to me over this tumultuous year; always there for Michael Peters, visiting him at the Christie and just being an all round good mate."
Earlier in May, Jules revealed that Bono and The Edge supported Mike in his last days.
We may also see members of Big Country, Simple Minds and Spandau Ballet's Tony Hadley descend of Dyserth.
When paying tribute to Mike, Tony described Mike as a "good friend" and a "true gentleman in every way" as well as a "great and talented musician".

What time to arrive
Waterfall road will be closed to vehicles from 10am. The family is encouraging those wishing to attend Mike's funeral to walk to the village, where possible, and to eat in the village.
People are being advised to arrive 'early' and no later that 2pm.
Those not able to walk from where they are coming from are advised to take a bus to Dyserth, rather than drive close to or into the village.

Jules said: "Ensure you give yourselves plenty of time to park somewhere safe, or preferably to get the bus or walk to Dyserth.
"'Hike for Mike' - Mike loved nothing more than walking and talking, and would love the idea that people might walk from Prestatyn to Dyserth to pay their respects."
What to wear
The family said: "Come as you are. There is no dress code - please wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. Camo, Alarm, or Love Hope Strength attire is warmly welcomed but not required.
"Please come prepared for whatever the weather will be on the day. Be ready to love to feel the rain in the summertime, but given recent warm days have your sun cream ready too."

Filming on the day
The funeral will be filmed both inside and outside the church and photographers and press will be present.
Anyone who does not wish to appear on camera should advise a steward in a high visibility jacket or the film crew in advance.

"Mike embodied calm and enjoyed chaos, and we ask that everyone please emulate him by being respectful of and thoughtful towards all those around you throughout the day and into the evening."
First Aid provision and safety
First aid provision will be available outside the chapel apartments, opposite the waterfall. Police will be in attendance, and the road closure will be managed by a professional traffic management service.
Voluntary efforts have largely made the day possible.
The family said: " We are grateful to all those who have helped and to all of you for helping on the day: If you see some litter please pick it up, and if someone needs a hand please help them out.
"Please note this is a public gathering and whilst we have gone to every effort to ensure your safety and the safety of all those around you, you are joining us at your own risk."

"We are doing everything we can to provide a fitting celebration to someone who lit up the world whilst he was here. All our family are so grateful to everyone in and around our village for the incredible support we’ve been given and for enabling us to recognise Mike’s life in such an inclusive way, just as he would have wanted. As we have said before, it feels profoundly right that Mike’s farewell will take place in Dyserth, the village where he was born and he proudly called home, and in sight of The Red, where he found so much happiness.
