A BODY of a dog with its legs 'tied' found on Rhyl beach has been removed.
The heartbreaking and barbaric discovery was made at about 9.30am on Monday, May 5.
The dog, said to be medium sized, was found on the beach near to the Events Arena.
A spokesperson from Denbighshire County Council confirmed the local authority is responsible for removing the dog’s body from the beach but the animal has already been removed.
They said: "The team have been out and couldn’t find trace of the dog and therefore we presume it may have been collected by the Police or RSPCA."
Kirsty Louise said the father of her children found the dog.
She told the Journal: "My kids' dad [Shane] and I are both very upset by the finding.
"Everyone has a place on this earth but for some reason, awful humans think they can dictate on who stays and who doesn't. It is very unkind and callous to do such an awful thing to a defenceless animal, I just want to try help find the owners.
"I think they should make it harder for people to own animals. It seems anyone, and I mean anyone, can own them but not everyone looks after them the way they should be.
"I really do feel for whoever this poor pup belongs to and sending our love to them at this sad time."
Kirsty said the water had "pretty much eroded the poor thing".
A spokesperson from RSPCA Cymru said: "We are very saddened to hear about this discovery at Rhyl beach. Our thoughts go out to the owner and to the member of the public who found the body, as this must have been extremely distressing.
“It’s not clear what has happened here - but to hear that the dog’s back legs were tied is concerning.
“We’d like to hear from anyone with first-hand information, who can contact the RSPCA inspectorate appeal line via 0300 123 8018.”
Hundreds of readers took to the Journal Facebook to voice their upset at the discovery.
One person said: "No words to describe such an evil human being that has such cruelty in their heads."
Another wrote: "Absolutely horrific!! This isn't a case of not being in a position to look after your dog anymore... It could have been rehomed or given to a rescue!! This is just pure evil!! That poor little thing must have been so scared!"
Another said: "This has broke my heart."
