Go-ahead for ‘exciting transformation’ at Prestatyn holiday park

Lyons Holiday Parks applied last summer for consent to demolish its existing sales, reception and offices building at Lyons Lido Beach Caravan Park, on Bastion Road.

Its proposal also involves the erection of a replacement building, to comprise a reception, sales centre, cafe/diner/kitchen, offices and decked terrace areas.

The development will include a new sports bar, an all-American-style diner, a lounge area, a modern reception, an outdoor terrace, and an ownership enquiries office to support prospective and existing holiday homeowners.

A Lyons spokesperson said: “Lyons Holiday Parks is proud to announce a significant new development at Lyons Lido Beach, set to open in 2026.

“This exciting transformation will bring a brand-new, state-of-the-art complex to the popular beach side holiday park, offering guests and owners an enhanced holiday experience like never before.”

As part of the development, an ornamental flower bed at the front of the existing building will also be removed and replaced by the decked terrace area with raised planters.

All trees currently adjacent to the existing building will be retained, meanwhile.

The council’s planning committee approved the proposals, but with numerous conditions attached, including:

• Prior to any demolition/construction works, protective fencing should be erected around the trees and the protected area around the trees shall remain a “construction exclusion zone” throughout the works.
• All trees and hedges to be retained shall be protected during site clearance and throughout the course of the development by a one-metre fence.
• The development shall begin within the next five years.
