THE frontman of The Alarm has launched 'transformation t-shirts' just days after returning home following two months in hospital.
Mike Peters, of Dyserth, was admitted to The Christie hospital in Manchester in January. The father-of-two, who is married to Jules, has been undergoing Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell Therapy (CAR-T) at The Christie to cure his Richter's syndrome, a rare and aggressive blood cancer.
CAR-T involved Mike's T cells (the white blood cells responsible for fighting disease) being extracted and then genetically modified to seek out his cancer and destroy it.
Whilst in hospital, Mike created a custom t-shirt for every day based on lyrics, titles, thoughts and inspirations from the experience and the writing of his new album, Transformation.
There are 30 different t-shirt designs featuring wording such as 'I'm still here', 'I won't back down', 'Decider', 'Like a butterfly' and 'Totally free' just to reference a few. Readers can purchase the t-shirts by clicking here.
In a statement, Mike said: "It’s great to be home in the bosom of the family back in Wales whilst I recover from my two month residency in the Christie Hospital, Manchester.
"To focus my mind, I created a custom t-shirt for every day that I was in hospital, based on lyrics, titles, thoughts and inspirations from the experience and the writing of the new album, Transformation.
"As soon as photos of me at The Christie began appearing of my daily t-shirt, you, The Alarm Family, contacted The Alarm Office to find out how you could also wear these t-shirts in solidarity. I am continuing to wear the shirts as I continue on the recovery path.
"I’d like to take this opportunity to send my love and deepest gratitude to The Alarm Family for sending me continued messages of Love Hope and Strength which Jules reads out to me every night.
"I feel very lucky to feel so loved and am now fully focused on my road to recovery and my new life.
"Thanks for being by my side."
Mike has lived with leukaemia for 30 years. He was first diagnosed with cancer in 1995 and has had various treatments, including being on a clinical trial last year.
Earlier this month, Mike revealed that although CAR-T hadn't officially been able to cure him, it had helped.

He said: "It [CAR-T] has been successful in its secondary, and probably more realistic objective, of getting me to the beachhead of a brand new life, with the support of a new post CAR-T enhancing drug called Epcoritamab.
"Once I have successfully migrated to the new drug regime, the transplant team will then be handing me back to the ongoing and wonderful care of the Haematology Team at Department 26 for continued rehab.
"I’m so grateful and thankful for this new life opportunity and to be able to live out the dream I have held on to every day of this overwhelming ordeal, to finally be reunited with Jules, Dylan and Evan and have time and space to make music and host special one off gigs and concerts for years to come."
Tickets have sold out to 'The Alarm Transformation Weekends', being held throughout June at The Red in Dyserth. The shows will be integrated into Mike’s rehabilitation.
Jules has been bravely documenting her husband's journey on social media. She has received an outpour of support and well-wishes from around the world, including from Alarm fans, friends and strangers.
She shared a message from Mike on Sunday, March 9.
“I’ve had a beautiful day in the new life and I want to thank everyone for the power of their prayer, love, hope and strength," he said.
"Thanks for helping to get me home, where I belong."
