On this day in 2020, Tŷ Mawr Holiday Park, located near Abergele, announced a significant investment aimed at enhancing its facilities and accommodation.

The UK’s largest holiday park operator, Parkdean Resorts, revealed plans to spend over £1.5 million to introduce ten new caravans, replacing older models at the popular destination.

This investment was part of a broader £80 million initiative across the company’s operations in Britain.

Parkdean Resorts, recognised as the UK’s largest operator of caravan, lodge, cabin, glamping, and camping holiday resorts, was awarded the title of Best UK Family Holiday Company 2019 at the British Travel Awards.

The company’s financial results in 2019 indicated a 5% increase in like-for-like revenue, reaching £453.2 million.

This performance enabled Parkdean to reinvest £80 million back into the business to foster future growth.

Steve Richards, Chief Executive of Parkdean Resorts, expressed enthusiasm about the company’s progress, stating: "We’ve made great progress in the last year and our success is down to the passion of our teams in helping to deliver great holiday experiences for our customers.

"We want to build on momentum in 2020, so we’re on the lookout for vibrant people to join our teams at our Welsh parks."

The investment in Tŷ Mawr was part of Parkdean’s largest annual investment in its estate, aimed at creating holiday parks that offer inter-generational family fun and freedom for holiday homeowners and guests.

Additionally, the company planned to invest £5.8 million in a pilot ‘parks of the future’ initiative across four locations, which would feature state-of-the-art amenities and kids’ activity-based entertainment, including the Bear Grylls Survival Academy.

Parkdean also announced they were committing more than £13 million to provide free high-speed Wi-Fi in every caravan and lodge across all of its parks in Great Britain, marking an industry first.
