A POPULAR holiday camp on Denbighshire's border with Flintshire has closed with immediate effect after the company which owns the site entered administration.
Colomendy, which is based at Loggerheads, near Mold, will close as owners Kingswood have gone into administration.
The residential and outdoor activity centre has been a popular destination for more than 70 years and its closure will come as a shock for many people in North Wales and North West.
Kingswood Colomendy Ltd, a subsidiary of Kingswood, had been awarded a 70-year lease of the site by Liverpool Council in 2007.
Announcing the closure of seven Kingswood centres, the company said: "We are very sorry to let you know that we have gone into administration.
"Unfortunately, seven of our centres will now close, and any planned trips to these will not be fulfilled by Kingswood.
Three of the centres have been snapped up by PGL, but the Colomendy site is not one of the saved sites.
