If I was on death row and, with the clock counting down, I was asked to choose my last meal, it would be something from the menu at Prestatyn's Chynna Garden.
I like it that much.
Whenever I'm dining out in Prestatyn with friend, my vote is always for Chynna Garden.
And on at least three occasions, I have won the vote.
Chynna Garden.
So, truth be told, I would never turn down the chance to enjoy the food at Chynna Garden.
So why is it so good. The choice? The food? The atmosphere? All ten out of ten for me.
Chynna Garden.
Chynna Garden, at 120-122 High Street, Prestatyn, was opened in 2010, and owner Alicia Kua and husband Jimmy have been involved in the business from the beginning.

Last year, Chynna Garden expanded its menu to offer more Malaysian and Thai food options.
Since then the lucky diners at Chynna Garden have quite literally been spoilt for choice.
The atmosphere in the restaurant is always fantastic.

Whether it is busy or not, and it usually is busy, the restaurant has a lively bustle about it that I love.
One of the greatest pleasures is listening to Alicia or one of the other staff describe the different dishes on the menu - the spices used, how they are prepared, and cooked.
I tend to lean towards the Malaysian dishes here as they are the least similar to food available at other restaurants.
This time I went for the salt and pepper sui mai as a starter.
Chynna Garden.
The sui mai were crispy on the outside, with an umami hit within, with a decent kick of heat from the salt and pepper.
I am a recent convert to salt and pepper, on chips, chicken, your name it, and this was some of the best I've had.

In the past I have enjoyed the satay tofu, rock sugar chicken balls and curry puffs, leading me to believe there is no wrong choice on the list of Malaysian starters.

At Chynna Garden, there are an array or dishes to choose from with the further choice of the meat you would like in the dish.
I went for the Black Bean Sauce with lamb.
The sauce had a real depth of flavour, with the perfect level of spice.

The lamb was the revelation though, not something I would normally order, or be able to order, at such a restaurant. But it was so tender and delicious, far exceeding the lamb I'd had as part of a roast dinner recently.

My friend, who is vegetarian, opted for the Vegetable Gyoza and tofu in Sweet and Sour Sauce.
He let me try the gyoza and they were as good as the sui mai. Sometimes they can be rubbery, but these were delightfully crispy on the outsides with a nice level of spice within.

We shared a fried rice between us as we knew the portions were plentiful.
The rice is fluffy and light, the perfect companion to any richness or spice from the stars of the show.
Will I return to Chynna Garden. Emphatically yes. And if you haven't been, I recommend you try it.
