A social enterprise in Rhyl has manufactured the first UK timber shed to be recognised for its safety and quality.
The sheds produced by Creating Enterprise, a subsidiary of Cartrefi Conwy, were put through rigorous testing to meet Secured by Design's (SBD) high standards for quality and security.
Creating Enterprise's factory in Rhyl managed to meet the standard, becoming the first in the UK to achieve this feat.
Richard Chance, factory manager at Creating Enterprise, said: "We are thrilled to have our timber shed accredited by Secured by Design.
"Our team has worked incredibly hard to design, construct, and pass the rigorous and brutal testing from SBD.
"This recognition is a testament to their dedication and expertise."
The modular solutions factory produces a variety of products which include modular homes built to Passivhaus standards, garden sheds, fence panels, and timber frame panels.
The SBD-certified shed highlights their commitment to 'innovation' and 'quality craftsmanship'.
Hazel Goss of Secured by Design said: "It has been a real pleasure to have Creating Enterprise join us as Secured by Design members with the first certified timber shed.
"This is a testament to their hard work, and I look forward to working with them in the coming years."
As a social enterprise, Creating Enterprise reinvests its profits into the Creating Futures Academy, providing training programs and employment opportunities for local communities.
This aligns with their 'strong social values' and 'positive community impact'.
The certification accentuates their commitment to 'security, sustainability, and social responsibility', setting a new standard for UK timber sheds.
