Circus artist’s partner goes into labour in Llandudno for second time

Gandeys Circus artist Serik Zhaxybekov was getting ready for the show at Bodafon Fields today when he got an urgent message over the radio from the front of house team informing him that his partner Esther Haywood was going into labour.

Remarkably, Esther, who works in the Gandeys mobile box office, also went into labour in Llandudno on their tour two years ago – talk about a good luck charm.

Serik and Esther welcomed baby Arlan in 2022, and certainly did not expect the same thing to happen at the same venue two years later.

Tour director Binky Beaumont told the Pioneer: “Serik did not want to let the audience down tonight and had already got a standby artiste waiting in the wings to step in.

“They were delighted as Esther was in good hands with the team last time at Llandudno, and as Esther is a dancer herself, usually she is totally used to the spills and thrills of the circus life.

“They decided that Bippo the clown’s kind offer to arrange a lift in his little pink comedy car was not the best mode of transport this time, and opted for a more sedate and discreet vehicle.

“They are on their way and we cannot wait for this exciting arrival.

"The chances of a repeat are an unbelievable coincidence, but the whole team are excited and delighted at the prospect of another beautiful baby arriving on the tour.”
