WARM tributes have been paid to a father from Llandudno who died in a motorbike crash near Abergele last weekend.

Dave Langford, who worked in the kitchen at Queen Elizabeth Court care home in Craig-y-Don, died aged 30 on Saturday, May 11.

He is survived by his partner, Karla; his four-year-old daughter, Leela May; his mother and father; and his two sisters.

To raise money for his funeral and his family’s living costs, Karla’s sister, Cherie, has set up a JustGiving page - www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/Dave-Langford.

“He loved free running and his motorbike, and he was loved by everyone that he came across. He lit up any room he walked in to.

“I never saw him down or angry; he was always so happy. He would do anything to help anyone.

“When my partner and I bought our house, he was the first to offer to come and paint it. He just loved life; he lived every second of his 30 years with absolute joy. He was amazing.”

“The fundraiser is mainly to raise money for the funeral, because there were obviously no plans in place for this, and to support his daughter moving forward, because she’s no longer got her dad.”

Cherie Jones, Karla’s sister, paid her own tribute to Dave, who she described as “truly special”.

She said: “He wasn't just family; he was like a dad to my kids, always making sure they felt included on our family adventures.

“He brought so much joy and support into our lives. His love for my sister was evident in everything they did together.

“He was absolutely wonderful with my niece, guiding her with love and a playful spirit. Even though he left us too soon, Dave's impact on our lives was huge.”

Karla’s mother and father also remembered their “cherished son-in-law”, who became an “irreplaceable part of our family”.

They added: “His adventurous spirit and warm smile brought light into our lives.

“Whether sharing stories over a meal or enjoying quality time with our family, Dave's presence was always a source of joy.

“He wasn't just a son-in-law; he was a son to us, a devoted partner to our daughter, and an incredible dad to our granddaughter.

“Though his time with us was too short, the love he gave and the memories he left behind will forever be treasured.”
