ABOUT 20 warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act have been executed in the last three weeks.

NWP Denbighshire Coastal and Abergele posted on their social media that Renew Team Officers, along with Priority Crime Team and Neighbourhood Policing colleagues, had executed the warrants.

A statement said: "This is aimed at disrupting the supply of illegal drugs, as well as diminishing the criminal activities of Organised Crime Groups (OCGs) in the area, and is just one aspect of a multi-agency, multi-pronged approach.

"'Renew' is a 'Clear, Hold Build' initiative originally devised by the Home Office. Working in partnership with Local Authority, Health Service partners and residents.

"It is a long term plan to improve the quality of life of residents and visitors, by building strong foundations for a stronger and more vibrant community."

In April, North Wales Police said they were rolling out a multi-agency partnership tactic called 'Clear, Hold, Build'. This is designed by the Home Office to regenerate areas most affected by serious and organised crime.

The three-phase initiative, known locally as 'Renew', uses a combination of targeted high-visibility police operations and covert policing tactics alongside activity and support from partners, and input from residents to protect communities and prevent organised crime groups from operating.
