A MAN has died after falling while climbing down a mountain in Eryri.
Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation (OVMRO) were called to the Tryfan area on May 6, with teams from Maritime and Coastguard Agency R936.
Three young men, who had been descending the north ridge, strayed off route and into Y Gully.
One member of the group slipped and fell "some distance", and did not survive.
Rescue teams helped the casualty and his companions down from the mountain.
An OVMRO spokesperson said: "One of the group slipped and fell some distance, sadly, they didn't survive.
"The thoughts of all involved are with the casualty's family and friends."
