A MAN from Rhuddlan who threatened to disclose private sexual imagery and sending threatening text messages in Rhyl has been handed a community order.

Paul Maxwell, 41, of Cwybr Cottages, was sentenced to 100 hours’ unpaid work at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (April 23).

He had pleaded guilty to charges of threatening to disclose private sexual photographs with intent to cause distress, and sending threatening messages, on March 13.

The court heard that Maxwell committed these offences, both involving the same victim, in Rhyl on December 9, 2023.

Maxwell was also handed a three-year restraining order, preventing him from contacting the victim by any means whatsoever during this time period.

In addition, he was ordered to pay a £114 surcharge, and £85 in court costs, amounting to a total payment of £199.
