A TOTAL of three members of a Slimming World group in Abergele have managed to lose a commendable amount of weight.
George, Linzi and Julie say that they owe their improved health and physical and mental wellbeing to Slimming World’s eating plan, and labelled it “far too generous to be called a diet”.
In 2022, George weighed 20 stone and eight pounds; he had to use a walking stick and suffered a great deal of pain in his knees, ankles, back and shoulders.
He was also diagnosed as pre-diabetic.

George managed to lose more than a stone before joining Slimming World, and now weighs 16 stone and one pound, having lost a total of four-and-a-half stone.
As a result, his pain is much-reduced in all of his joints, and his diabetes count has dropped from 46 to 38.
Meanwhile, Linzi joined Slimming World in 2022 having been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.
Since then, she has lost five stone and one pound.
She is in complete remission from her diabetes diagnosis, and now feels “a lot better” in herself, with “more energy”.
Linzi also enjoys all of the health benefits that come with eating a healthy diet, including having fewer aches and pains.
Julie joined Slimming World in 2023, because she needed a heart operation which she was not permitted to have until she had lost weight.
Having now lost four stone and four pounds, Julie had her heart operation a few months ago, and is now looking forward to continuing her journey to her target weight to further enjoy the benefits of being fit and healthy.
