A MOTHER and daughter in Rhyl are preparing to open a toy shop in the town next month.

Samara Bowyer, 24, and mum Sammy, 47, will welcome customers to The Gifts Fairy, at 10 Bedford Street, for the first time on Saturday, May 25 from 12-5pm.

As well as selling toys, the store will also offer a range of other products including cosmetics, clothes, jewellery, hair accessories and personalised gifts.

For the last year, Samara has been selling stock which customers will find in the store from her home via Facebook Live videos.

Moving her business into its own premises will, she hopes, lead to it expanding.

Samara said: “We’re hoping we bring loads of custom to Rhyl, and more joy to the community.

“I did the Facebook Lives selling all of my stock from home, but to be honest, I wanted my house back!

“So, I started looking for a shop to do the Lives from, but then I thought I may as well just open it up as a toy store. I’ll still be doing Lives from the shop, though.

“I suppose it expands on what I’ve been doing for a year now to new customers, including holidaymakers.

“We’ll be offering payment plans as well, where once you pay an initial £5 deposit, you can then get your items.”

The store will also offer a “rent a shelf” scheme to up to five businesses, costing £25 per month.

On opening day, customers can meet the shop’s mascot, Ellie the Elephant, and receive a free drink on arrival.

There will also be a free goodie bag for the first 10 families, and cupcakes for the first 48 customers.
