A CHARITY in Rhyl dedicated to supporting homeless and vulnerable mothers is due to open its second hub within the town’s White Rose Centre.
Blossom & Bloom opened its wellbeing hub at unit 19 of the shopping centre (opposite Boots) last April.
And on April 8, it will also open its development hub (opposite The Works), which is aimed more at supporting families than the wellbeing hub, which specifically targets mothers and babies.

Like the wellbeing hub, it will be open from Monday to Friday, with Denbighshire County Council leader, Jason McLellan, to cut the ribbon on April 8 at 12.30pm.
Vicky Welsman-Millard, who founded the charity in 2020, said getting the development hub ready to open has been “manic”.
She said: “Since we opened the wellbeing hub, we’ve engaged with and are supporting over 200 families, to access the help and support they need.
“Our course provision here has grown to five mornings a week – we’re delivering wellbeing courses for mum, parenting courses, and a structured topic play session, where we look at all elements of a baby’s development, and milestones.
“We’ve outgrown our space here, which is why we’ve taken on the additional hub.
“We’re going to increase the amount of courses that people can attend, and the development hub isn’t just going to be open to mums and babies.
“It’ll be open to families as a whole; for anyone who feels that one of the courses would benefit them.
“We’ve also got an area at the front around retail that we want to develop families to ‘skill up’. We’ve got a beauty salon space and market stalls in there, as well, whereby families can access retail space in the town centre for free.”
Blossom and Bloom has been offering the first recycle, re-love and re-use baby essentials swap shop from its wellbeing hub.
The wellbeing hub is open to mums and pre-school-age children every weekday.
The charity believes that mums need to be provided the opportunity to train, develop, skill-up and work part-time, and states that childcare is the main barrier for all of the mums and babies it supports.
