A WOMAN from Kinmel Bay is to be the first to ride a horse and carriage to a Gwrych Castle wedding this summer.

Rachel and fiancé Richard will wed at the castle in August, and though weddings have been held at the venue before, Rachel said she will be the first to ride a horse and carriage there.

This will be followed by their reception at The Yacht, Pensarn.

“We have both had traumatic relationships in our past and we felt that we were good together. We are both Leo star sign, and a couple of years apart in age.

“Richard is fantastic; he helps me as I struggle with everyday things. He is amazing; he tells me he loves me every day, which is so sweet.

“When we decided to get married, we wanted to do something different, so decided to get married at Gwrych Castle.

“I will be leaving in a horse and carriage to take myself and my son to the castle; I’ll have six bridesmaids, a flower girl and a pageboy at the entrance hall in the castle.

“Richard thought it would be lovely to arrive by horse and carriage, which will also be a first!”

The first civil wedding ceremony took place at Gwrych Castle last year, when Rhyl couple Jill Adamson and her partner Nick Clitheroe tied the knot on May 19, 2023.
