A TAKEAWAY in Rhyl has parted ways with a popular delivery platform due to the “high costs” it creates for both the business and its customers.

Zozan Kebab House, at 36 Vale Road, has stopped working with online delivery service Just Eat due to both the commission charge and the added price on the platform for customers.

Just Eat collects a commission fee of around 14 per cent (excluding VAT) on every order, with a 50p admin charge which is paid by customers.

Businesses can pay a one-off joining fee of £295 (excluding VAT), which can be paid up front or will be deducted from future orders until the fee is paid in full.

Zozan Kebab House encouraged customers to order on its official website, where customers could enjoy discounts on orders being collected.

In a social media notice, the business said: “Due to the high costs associated with Just Eat, both for us and our valued customers, we’ve decided to part ways with their platform.

“We encourage you to place your orders directly through our official website, which offers a more affordable and seamless experience tailored for our wonderful customers.”

Zozan opened in October 2023, and has proven popular with several good reviews.
