A POPULAR hotel and events venue in Bodelwyddan has bounced back after receiving a food hygiene rating of one last year.
Faenol Fawr Country House & Manor Hotel was given the score after assessment on September 27.
At the time, the business’ hygienic food handling and its cleanliness and the condition of its facilities were rated ‘improvement necessary’, with its management of food safety marked ‘major improvement necessary’.

The family-run hotel, which offers bed and breakfast and self-catering cottage services, also operates as a wedding venue and host events for celebrations such as Valentine’s Day and Mothers’ Day.
The hotel has been revisited since the surprise result, where it impressed and was scored a five.
A spokesperson for the hotel told the Journal: “We have since then been rescored to a five.”
The hotel describes itself as being “renowned for its personal touch and caring service”, and the return to a top grade signifies this.
