A NEW café and restaurant in Rhyl is marking Valentine’s Day by serving alcohol for the first time after obtaining a licence to do.

Artisan Café and Bistro, at 3 Market Street (formerly Jay’s Café), initially opened in late November.

It has been opened by Plamen Panayotov, also of Four Seasons café and bistro on High Street, Prestatyn, along with his cousin, Borislav Borisov.

Open from 9am until 9pm, Artisan Café and Bistro offers a wide range of breakfasts, paninis, sandwiches, baguettes, omelettes, salads, seafood- and meat-based dishes, pastas, pizzas and more.

But from today (February 14), you can now enjoy a beer, glass of wine, spirits or more at the premises.

Artisan Café and Bistro said: “Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone! After a long wait, we finally have our alcohol licence!

“We encourage you to come down to Artisan and enjoy a some of our fine alcohol, whether that’s a bottle of wine, cider, beer, or some spirits and liqueurs.

“There is still time for you and your loved one to book a table at our fine establishment for Valentine’s Day.”

Previously, Borislav told the Journal: “We always try to make our own home-made sauces, and to be different from other places.

“We saw that, in Rhyl, there are not too many places like this, and in the summer time, it’s very busy around here.

“To me, ‘artisan’ means you create your food like artists. Plamen and I love cooking; we try to make everything ourselves, and do things our way. That’s why we called it ‘artisan’.”
