THERE'S set to be mixed spells of sun, rain, and cloud across Wrexham and Flintshire following Storm Jocelyn. 

The second storm in a matter of days battered North Wales on Tuesday evening, with roads forced to close - leading to "chaos" in surrounding villages and towns. 

The A483 was closed in both directions between Ruabon and Gledrid from 4pm and 7pm causing "traffic chaos" in Llangollen.

Traffic was diverted via the A539 and A5 in Llangollen and the B5070. This is due to the closure of the B5605 following the Newbridge Road landslip. 

Many residents also had power cuts due to the high winds, but it seems the worst of Storm Jocelyn has now passed. 

The weather warning remained in place until 1pm this afternoon (January 24).

The Met Office suggest that the stormy weather has cleared, leaving a mix of sunshine and showers for the rest of the week. 

Temperatures continue to rise from the cold weather faced last week, with highs of 13C. 

A Met Office spokesperson said: "Today: A dry and bright start for most with winds continuing to ease. North and East Wales will hang on to sunshine for much of the day, whilst elsewhere skies will cloud over with light rain possible in South Wales later. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

"Tonight: Clear spells across North Wales at first, perhaps with an early frost. Otherwise clouding over with light rain slowly pushing northwards overnight. Some heavier bursts are possible over the mountains. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

"Thursday: A wet start for some, then briefly drier with the odd brighter spell. Becoming windier through the day with further spells of light rain and drizzle later. Mild once again. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

"Outlook for Friday to Sunday: A drier day on Friday with sunny spells and winds slowly easing. Often cloudy and breezy throughout the weekend with patchy rain possible at times. Staying relatively mild throughout."
