AN ABNORMAL load will be escorted by North Wales Police to a coastal road in Rhyl on January 22.

This will start from the England-Wales border at 9.30am, and will head westbound via the M56 and A55 to the coastal defence works on Marine Drive, Rhyl.

Rhyl residents have been told to expect delays from the A525 Rhuddlan bypass to Marine Drive, with the load to be "slow moving".

Motorists have been told to use alternative roads where possible and allow extra journey time.
