DENBIGHSHIRE County Council is asking people to properly dispose of their tree this year, be it real or fake.

If you choose an artificial tree, it is recommended that it is reused year after year to help reduce waste.

When you do decide to dispose of your artificial tree, it is advised that it is taken to your nearest recycling and waste park.

If you opt for a real tree, you can recycle it in your green wheelie bin or green sacks.

It is advised that it is cut up first to ensure it fits properly in your bin.

If you cannot fit it into your bin, real trees can be taken to a recycling and waste park for disposal.

Cllr Barry Mellor, lead member for environment and transport, said: “Christmas trees, either real or fake are an important part of the festive period.

“Putting them up and decorating them is often the highlight of many people’s Christmas period.

“When it does come time to dispose of your tree, it is important they are disposed of properly through the correct channels.”
