A WEATHER warning for rain is in place across parts of North Wales on Christmas Eve.
The Met Office has issued a Yellow warning for parts of Denbighshire, Conwy and Gwynedd.
It comes into effect at 10pm on Saturday, December 23, and remains in place until 6pm on Christmas Eve.
Forecasters say persistent heavy rain could cause flooding, travel disruption and possible power cuts. There will also be strong winds alongside the downpours.
A Met Office forecast said: "A band of rain will slowly move south across Wales on Saturday evening and through Sunday, probably clearing to the south later in the day on Sunday. 20-40mm of rain may accumulate quite widely within the warning area, but west-facing high ground could see 60-80mm of rain during this period.
"Strong and gusty winds will accompany the rainfall."
Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist Dave Hayter said: “It’ll be a particularly wet weekend in the north and west, with breezy conditions for many. While those further south will generally be drier, some sporadic showers could spread into the southwest at times, as well as some more persistent rain for Wales on Sunday."
