THIS is the moment a dangerous driver caused a head-on collision in Conwy.
Antoine Mercier, of Denbigh Street, Llanwrst, appeared before Caernarfon Crown Court for sentencing last Thursday (December 14).
The 44-year-old received a suspended jail sentence and was banned from driving after his car swerved into the path of an oncoming vehicle on the A547 towards Conwy.
The collision left Jennifer Young, whose Skoda Mercier collided with, with serious injuries, including a fractured vertebrae.
Mercier was also over three times the legal drink drive limit, which he was dealt with separately for.
The Crown Prosecution Service has now released dashcam footage from a taxi that was travelling behind Mercier's Ford Fiesta when the collision occurred - which had been played to the court.
It shows Mercier's car swerving from side to side, clipping a nearside wall before veering onto the wrong side of the road and straight into the path of Miss Young's car.
