A RHUDDLAN holiday park is celebrating after being awarded the title of the best in North Wales.

Abbey Farm was named “best caravan park (North Wales)” at the Campsites.co.uk Camping and Glamping Awards 2023.

It had won “best caravan site in Wales” at the same awards last year.

The family-run park was also previously awarded “gold” from Visit Wales for its hand-crafted ensuite glamping pods.

Celia Williams, of Abbey Farm, whose husband’s family have been farming on the land for more than a century, said: “Winning this award again this year is amazing!

“As a family, we all work together to ensure our guests have a great stay and to see so many returning makes it all worthwhile.

“We keep striving to improve our site, so we’re very excited that, next year, we will be opening our farm shop, offering beef and lamb from our farm, and more local produce.”

Celia also expressed her gratitude for the reviews posted online about the site by guests.

One of those reviews read: “This is an outstanding campsite. We have been camping all around the UK, and this site is well up there with the best we have stayed at.

“The facilities are amazing and very clean, pitches are spot on, and the family that run this site are lovely.

“The village of Rhuddlan is a short walk away that has pubs, shops, cafes and takeaways.

“We very rarely visit the same site twice as there is so much to see, but we will 100 per cent be back for another stay.”

Martin Smith, the founder of Campsites.co.uk, said: "Choosing gets tougher each year, but these sites went the extra mile.

“A huge congratulations to our winners, thank you for setting the camping bar so high!"
