JOBS are said to be 'at risk' at manufacturing company in Bodelwyddan.

On October 30, Reflexallen updated employees on the future and about potentially downsizing over the next period.

A former staff worker, who asked not to be named and knows workers at the company, told the Journal that employees have been informed that production is moving to a new plant in Tunisia in the future and claimed that "110 staff are at risk of losing their jobs". They said staff are being offered voluntary redundancies.

They added: "All those I have spoken to are absolutely devastated but people knew it was coming. I remember thinking, when I was still there, and if we got a pay rise, which staff eventually did after my employment was terminated, it would cost jobs as it’s cheaper to pay staff in Tunisia.

"A few departments have completely gone over to Tunisia and they have cut overtime, cut shifts and got rid of agency staff."

A staff member, who asked not to named, confirmed to the Journal that employees had received an email from the company [about the future].

Reflexallen said that all employees were addressed verbally about the future and a copy of the statement was shared with all employees by email the following day.

The company said they will review the possibility of opening a voluntary redundancy window.

They added that the precise number of job losses have not been communicated and the situation remains fluid.
