GWRYCH Castle was lit up red over the weekend for Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday.

"The Paul Woodland Trust and Woodies Lodge of Colwyn Bay were supported and alongside a group of wonderful young people learning about the importance of remembrance. [Paul “Woody” Woodland lost his life in a training exercise, before he was due to return for a second tour of duty in Afghanistan. 'Woody’s' dream of owning a log cabin after his service became the inspiration for Woody’s Lodge].

"Woodies Lodge in Colwyn Bay was founded in his honour."
