A MOTHER and daughter who were jailed after a man was stabbed in a “frenzied attack” in Rhyl have been released less than three weeks after they were each handed two-year sentences.

Sharon and Paige Roberts, 38 and 19 respectively and both of Y Berthlog, Trelogan, were both sentenced for affray on October 12.

Callum Parker, 18, of St Davids Square, Rhyl, was sentenced to a year’s imprisonment for perverting the course of justice, but having been on remand since on April, was released on the same day he was jailed (October 12).

In total, six people were jailed in connection with the incident, which saw victim Ryan Tudor-Vincent, 22, stabbed, punched and kicked on Crescent Road early on Sunday, April 9.

Sharon Roberts was released on October 27, and Paige Roberts on October 30, both having been on remand since April.

A Ministry of Justice spokesperson said: “These offenders served time in prison ahead of their trial on remand and face being returned to custody if they break the strict terms of their release.”

When asked by the Journal, the Ministry of Justice declined to detail the conditions attached with the defendants’ early release.

Though neither Sharon or Paige Roberts stabbed Mr Tudor-Vincent, they were both seen to "repeatedly punch and kick him".

Sharon Roberts kicked him to the floor as he attempted to return to his accommodation, while Paige Roberts appeared to have recorded some of the incident on her mobile phone.

Parker perverted the course of justice by telling a co-defendant, Llewelyn White, to drop a knife he had used down a grid.

Paige Roberts and Llewelyn White, her partner, had got into a heated argument with Mr Tudor-Vincent at a pub in Rhyl earlier that night after the victim had been accused of pulling her hair.

Llewelyn White, who repeatedly stabbed Mr Tudor-Vincent before later throwing away the victim’s mobile phone, was jailed for nine years.

The other two defendants, Frederick White and Liam Babbs, were given jail terms of 16 and 25 months respectively for perverting the course of justice.

Sharon Roberts had stayed with Mr Tudor-Vincent at the scene until others arrived to help him, while Paige Roberts phoned for an ambulance for him.

He was then transferred to the Royal Stoke University Hospital with near-fatal injuries.

While presiding over the sentencing hearing, Judge Nicola Saffman told Sharon Roberts: "Frankly, you were of an age and a maturity where you could have stopped this, and nipped it in the bud from the outset.

"But you continued to fuel the flames and became involved."
