THE Sainsbury’s supermarket at a retail park in Rhuddlan has had to close temporarily as a consequence of the flooding during Storm Babet last week.

Sainsbury’s shut its store at Clwyd Retail Park during the weekend after heavy rain hit the site on Friday (October 20).

Though a re-opening date of October 28 had been suggested, Sainsbury’s has said it is aiming to welcome back shoppers to the store “as soon as possible”.

A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “Our Rhyl superstore is currently closed following local flooding from Storm Babet.

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused and are working hard to re-open as soon as possible.”
