A RHYL hair and beauty salon opened its doors for the first time on the weekend.
Serenity Lounge Hair and Beauty opened at 4 Water Street on October 14, and is owned by Tracey Cooke.
The shop caters for all sorts of beauty and wellness needs, specialising in hair, nails, eyelashes and brows.
Owner Tracey’s first job out of school was as a hairdresser, a role she gave up when she gave birth to her first daughter.
“When I was in my school years, I left and became a hairdresser and had my first daughter and gave hairdressing up to work nights,” Tracey told the Journal.
Eventually having a career in the care industry, it wasn’t until her husband became aware of an available space in Rhyl that the idea of owning a salon, and returning to her first passion, dawned on her.

Tracey continued: “My husband said ‘oh this place is available so why don’t you do a hair salon’.
“I thought ‘I’ve got a bad back’, so to get me out of the care industry thought I’ll open my own salon!
“It will be high-end, but catering towards middle and working class people, with a good service at a good price.”
