A POP-UP shop selling Halloween- and Christmas-related items has opened at Rhyl’s White Rose Centre, temporarily filling the unit previously occupied by New Look.

The shop celebrated a “soft opening” on Friday (October 13), and has been set up by Bedfordshire-based businessman Chris Biegala.

It will be open every day from 9am - 5.30pm during the week, and 10am – 4pm on Sundays.

Currently, it is not due to stay open into the new year.

Chris, whose main business is a Bedfordshire flower shop he has run for 24 years, said: “We had a ‘soft opening’ on Friday, as we only had half of the gear up in the end, but it’s worked out really well.

“There have been a lot of people in to see the stuff, so we’re really pleased. We’ve taken quite a bit of money.

“It’s about 90 per cent Christmas stuff, with a window of Halloween things. We’ve sold a few lights, baubles and trees; just the basics, at the moment.

“We had a good first weekend, and we’ve got some really lovely stuff still to come in yet! When it really gets going, it will be lovely in there.”

New Look’s final day of business at the White Rose Centre was Tuesday, July 25.

It was not the first business to close at the shopping centre this year, with Iceland having left the premises in March.

In the summer of 2022, the centre’s Superdrug and Three stores also shut for good.
