AN ENTREPRENEUR, author and podcaster from Rhyl is to walk 5km each day in October in aid of a charity finding causes and treatments to save the lives of babies.

Lisa Williams, 37, is walking to support the national campaign of “Tommy’s”, which says that one in 100 women suffer from recurrent miscarriages, and one in four from baby loss.

She experienced several miscarriages, starting in July 2016, and said that, on each occasion, she was left with no support or information.

“I went into a very dark place after the second miscarriage and felt as though I had lost my zest for life,” Lisa said.

“I felt worthless as a woman, as I couldn’t carry my babies.”

Miscarriage can have a profound psychological effect, often on both parents; so by speaking out about it Lisa hopes that her words can help others and remove the ‘taboo’ surrounding it.

October 9-15 is “Baby Loss Awareness Week”, a global event to honour babies who died before, during, or after birth.

During Baby Loss Awareness Week, Lisa will be hosting a special podcast series called “The Light”, talking about her experience has helped her and others.

The podcast series will share several stories from other women who have experienced loss, including guests from Tommy’s itself.
