TWO properties suffered damage during two separate house fires that happened within half an hour of each other. 

North Wales Fire and Rescue were called to a kitchen fire on Dulas Avenue, Kinmel Bay, shortly after 2.30pm on Tuesday, September 5.

Just half an hour later, firefighters were called out to a blaze on Kinmel Way, Towyn, located 1.5 miles away. Three crews attended with the aerial ladder platform.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: "We were called at 2.38pm. Three crews attended the fire on Dulas Avenue. The occupier was led to safety by crews.

"We were called to a fire at a bungalow at 3.01pm on Kinmel Way, Towyn. 

"The occupant was checked at the scene by colleagues from WAST for shock.

"The fire caused 90 per cent fire and smoke damage to the loft.

"The fire is thought to be electrical."

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called on Tuesday, September 5, at approximately 3.15pm, to reports of a house fire at a property on Kinmel Way in Towyn.

"We sent one rapid response vehicle to the incident and treated one patient at the scene.”
